Serious incidents involving Las Vegas valley schools in 2018-19

This is an ongoing list of serious incidents at Las Vegas valley schools for the 2018-19 school year.

12 female students were cited for fighting at Chaparral High School near Twain Avenue and Annie Oakley Drive on May 23.

A school bus driver is injured and one student is in custody after a fight at Canyon Springs High School near Alexander Road and 5th Street on May 23.

An individual was arrested after gun found in vehicle at Green Valley High School near Warm Springs Road and Arroyo Grande Boulevard on May 3.

A male student at Centennial High School near Centennial Parkway and Hualapai Way was reportedly hospitalized after a fight on May 1.

Classes were canceled on April 29 at St. Viator Catholic School on Eastern Avenue because of a threat made against administration.

A student at Chaparral High School near Twain Avenue and Annie Oakley Drive was arrested April 24 after a gun was found in his possession.

A 13-year-old girl has been arrested for making "terroristic threats" involving Silvestri Junior High School near Silverado Ranch Boulevard and Maryland Parkway on April 24.

A student at Brinley Middle School near Smoke Ranch Road and Torrey Pines Drive was taken into custody after accidentally shooting another student with a BB gun on April 9.

The principal at Desert Rose High School near Cheyenne Avenue and Commerce Street was injured in a fight between students on April 5.

On March 27, a student at Garside Middle School near Torrey Pines Drive and the US-95 was arrested for having a BB gun on school property.

On March 20, a student at Las Vegas High School near Sahara Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard was arrested after a gun was found inside a backpack that was located in his car at the school.

On March 19, Arbor View High School near Buffalo Drive and Grand Teton Drive sent a message to parents regarding possible threats online targeted at students.

On March 14, a 15-year-old male student at Desert Oasis High School near Cactus Avenue and Rainbow Boulevard was arrested after making threats against the school. Guns were found in his home.

2 students were arrested on Feb. 15 after a fight at Legacy High School near Deer Springs Way and North 5th Street. Police used pepper spray to break up fight. About 10-15 students involved. No weapons were used.

A student was arrested Jan. 28 for having a BB gun at Spring Valley High School near Twain Avenue and Buffalo Drive.

6 juveniles got in fight at Western High School near Decatur Boulevard and Bonanza Road on Jan. 25. Four of them were detained and 2 were transported to hospital with minor injuries.

2 students were arrested at Basic High School in Henderson on Dec. 13 for having loaded guns in their possession.

Mojave High School and Bendorf, O'Roarke, Ober and Variety elementary schools all received threatening phone calls on Nov. 16 that were later deemed to be non-credible.

Three students at Sunrise Mountain High School near Los Feliz Street and Carey Avenue were cited after a video of two students having sex was posted online, CCSD police confirmed Oct. 22.

Several students were pepper sprayed during a fight on Oct. 11 at Western High School near Decatur Boulevard and Bonanza Road.

A male student was arrested after allegedly bringing a gun to Sunrise Mountain High School near Los Feliz Street and Carey Avenue on Oct. 9.

A student was arrested after a staff member at Mojave High School was struck during a fight on Oct. 2.

A male student allegedly brought an unloaded BB gun to Basic High School near Burkholder Boulevard and Palo Verde Drive on Oct. 1.

Two 17-year-old students were arrested on Sept. 28 for having gun on Cheyenne High School campus near Simmons Street and Alexander Road after a social media video surfaced.

Police said there was an attempted kidnapping on Sept. 24 of a 14-year-old near Leavitt Middle School near Lone Mountain Road and Buffalo Drive.

A student was arrested at Shadow Ridge High School near Iron Mountain Road and Decatur Boulevard on Sept. 21 after he reportedly brought several BB guns to the school.

A 9-year-old boy was found with a gun at Helen Smith Elementary School near Pinedale Avenue and Lakehurst Road on Sept. 19.

A 15-year-old student was arrested at Del Sol Academy near Russell Road and McLeod Drive after he was in possession of a BB gun on campus. The student was showing the gun to other students on Sept. 18.

A 16-year-old student was arrested at Desert Rose High School near Cheyenne Avenue and Commerce Street for possession of a loaded 9mm handgun on Sept. 12.

18-year-old Dalvin Brown was shot and killed on Sept. 11 on the edge of the Canyon Springs High School property near Alexander Road and North 5th Street.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested at Mojave High School near Hammer Lane and Goldfield Street on Sept. 5 after he was allegedly found with a .40-caliber firearm.

A 25-year-old woman was arrested after police said she pulled out a loaded 9mm handgun while students were fighting outside Chaparral High School near Twain Avenue and Annie Oakley Drive on Aug. 31.

Clark County School District police used pepper spray on students fighting on a bus near North Durango Drive and the 215 beltway on Aug. 29. Police said the students were from Peterson Behavioral School.

A student from Sierra Vista High School near Robindale and Cimarron roads was found with a .45-caliber firearm during a random search by Nevada parole and probation officers on Aug. 28.

A College of Southern Nevada professor was arrested after shooting himself in the arm in a bathroom at the West Charleston campus on Aug. 28.

A 16-year-old student was arrested Aug. 22 at Centennial High School near Centennial Parkway and Hualapai Way for possession of a loaded 9mm handgun.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested Aug. 13 after allegedly bringing a handgun to Green Valley High School near Warm Springs Road and Arroyo Grande Boulevard.
