LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The two men who police say were shot by a Summerlin homeowner this week now face criminal charges, jail records show.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department jail booking logs and an arrest report identified the men as Connor Ian Davis and Arqua Jenkins, both 29.
As Channel 13 previously reported, both men were shot in a neighborhood near Charleston Boulevard and Sky Vista Drive on Tuesday, Dec. 23. According to police, several people called 911 to report hearing gunfire in the 800 block of Haven Oaks Place.
An arrest report states the homeowner spotted a black SUV parked in front of his home. He pulled into his garage and before the garage door came down, Davis and Jenkins, who were wearing dark colored clothing and ski masks, ran into the garage and pointed an AR-style rifle at the homeowner. That's when the homeowner told police that he pulled out a gun and shot at Davis and Jenkins about seven or eight times.
Davis and Jenkins both ran away from the scene with one going down the street and the other hiding behind a neighbor's car before asking the homeowner to let him leave. The homeowner let him get into a vehicle and drive away.
A hospital reported the two shooting victims had arrived to be treated for gunshot wounds and police responded to the hospital. Jenkins had a gunshot wound to his stomach and leg while Davis had two gunshot wounds to his left arm.
According to the arrest report, the homeowner told police that he is a jeweler and he and his friends "have a large following on social media where they would flaunt jewelry." The report goes on to say the homeowner's friends, who are also jewelers, had been. victims of either robberies or burglaries, in which large amounts of money, jewelry, and a high-end car were. stolen within the last few months.
Police also spoke to Davis' partner, who he has been with since 2017 and has two children with. She told police that Davis told her that he was going to go Christmas shopping for their children and left in her vehicle. According to the arrest report, she said she and Davis make good money with their respective careers so the two aren't struggling for money.
Davis and Jenkins both face multiple charges, including:
- attempted robbery with use of a deadly weapon,
- conspiracy to commit robbery,
- burglary while in possession of a firearm or deadly weapon,
- assault with use of a deadly weapon.
As of Thursday, Jenkins is still behind bars at the Clark County Detention Center while Davis has posted bond.
The pair are scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Jan. 13.
