HENDERSON (KTNV) — On Saturday evening, Channel 13 received a copy of a cease-and-desist letter from two police unions addressed to Henderson councilwoman Carrie Cox.

The Nevada Association of Public Safety Officers (NAPSO) and the Henderson Police Supervisors Association (HPSA) shared in their letter that Cox had allegedly used elements of their organizations — including badges, logos, and names — in her campaign materials.

Both associations said in the letter that neither one had given Cox their endorsement, and were rescinding old endorsements to Cox. They also asked that any signage containing those elements be removed and destroyed.

Channel 13 has reached out to Cox for a statement. At this time, we have not heard back.

You can read the full letter from NAPSO and HPSA below.

"Dear Ms. Cox,

We are writing to you on behalf of the Nevada Association of Public Safety Officers ("NAPSO") and the Henderson Police Supervisors Association ("HPSA") to demand that you immediately cease and desist from using NAPSO and HPSA names, badges, logos and other identifying information in/on your campaign material including signs, banners, billboards and website. We have observed such false and misleading signs as recently as this morning's Candidate Forum at the Henderson Heritage Park Senior Center.

We also especially and unequivocally demand that you remove language indicating that you have been endorsed by our Associations. Your re-election campaign has NOT been endorsed by either Association. Furthermore, both Associations previously rescinded old endorsements. Indicating that you have our local police endorsements is FALSE and represents a factual misrepresentation to the community.

Please advise us when these signs have been removed and destroyed. We would hope that you will publicly apologize to our Associations and the public for this distortion of the truth. We look forward to your prompt response to this matter."

This is not the first time Cox has faced issues as a council member.

In 2025, Channel 13 told you about Cox's indictment — and later, unanimous censure — after she allegedly hid behind a curtain to record her colleague, Councilwoman Monica Larsen.

In March, we shared with you that Cox filed a lawsuit against her fellow council member James Seebock for allegedly hitting her multiple times.
