LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Two people are in custody after police said their practices for training dogs qualified as animal cruelty.
It happened in the 7300 block of West Lake Mead Boulevard, in the area of N Tenaya Way, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Police said in early March of this year, detectives learned about the possible felony animal cruelty.
As authorities investigated, they found 35 dogs inside the business. All dogs were taken to The Animal Foundation, where they will be examined and held for seven days.
Tabitha Berube, 32, and John Johnstone, 38, were arrested as part of the investigation.
Johnstone is held on four charges of willfully/maliciously killing, maiming, or torturing a dog. Berube is held on one charge of the same crime.
An emergency suspension of the business license was served to the owner.
