Shakeria Hawkins is your Southwest Las Vegas Reporter, proud to cover one of the fastest-growing areas in the Las Vegas valley.

A proud Las Vegas native, she returned home and joined the station in October 2022. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism & Media Studies from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).

Shakeria has covered a wide range of general assignment stories, from breaking crime and community issues to everyday and consumer-focused news.

Her coverage now centers on the Southwest community, including new development, business expansion, and housing growth, along with the everyday issues affecting the people who live and work in the area.
