From home runs to headline moments, the Summerlin South Little League team proved what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas. This time, it went all the way to Pennsylvania.
"Win or lose, man, enjoy the journey. They're going to be talking about this for 10 to 20 years. It's never about the destination but the journey along the way," said Evan Boyd, uncle to Summerlin South little league player Banks Mossler.

Summerlin South showed that the real jackpot isn't measured in runs, but in the kids they'll inspire to step up to the plate next.
"I want to play at this level. It's going to be amazing if I get there," said Huntyr Poole, a Summerlin South Little League player.
This isn't the end — it's the start of something bigger for baseball in Las Vegas.

"Vegas loves its sports. We've got the Raiders, the Knights, the A's are coming. It's been cool to see the community come out and support these kids," says Boyd.
And to the Summerlin South team, there's a message from all their fans: We'd bet on you every time.
"I get emotional. Great job, way to represent, way to work hard, and just be fine young men and do your job out there. said Jose Gemboa, an LVR Little League coach.

"It's something that very few kids get to do and these kids are so lucky and grateful. Way to represent, boys," said Dalton Watters who played for Summerlin South a few years ago.
Though Summerlin South didn’t walk away as the winner today, their win at the U.S. Championship against Connecticut earned them a place in Nevada history as the first team from our state to compete at the World Championship game — and celebrations of that milestone will continue into next week.
A Downtown Summerlin spokesperson has shared with Channel 13 that a parade is planned for Wednesday, August 27, in honor of Summerlin South.
