Police say they found a man with a gunshot wound in the breezeway of an apartment building at the Silver Pines Apartments at 6650 E. Russell Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives said the man was in a vacant apartment with several other people before the shooting occurred. Detectives believe the man was involved in a fight when he shot. After the shooting, everyone fled the apartment on foot. No arrests have been made.
Henderson police were involved in an incident around 8 p.m. in a parking lot in the 2600 block of Windmill Parkway. The officers were hit by a vehicle. READ MORE.
A 53-year-old male bicyclist died after being hit by a vehicle on Harmon Avenue, east of Nellis Boulevard. He was in the bike lane before going into the westbound travel lane to avoid a downed tree that was completely blocking the bike lane. He was then hi by a Lincoln Mark VIII that was also traveling westbound. Police originally said the bicyclist had non-life-threatening injuries at Sunrise Hospital before being pronounced deceased on Monday.
A male pedestrian was struck by two vehicles at South Las Vegas Boulevard and West Sahara Avenue. He was transported to UMC in critical condition. Nevada Highway Patrol will be investigating the crash.
Las Vegas police are investigating a serious injury crash between a vehicle and a motorcycle at West Charleston Boulevard and Brush Street. Charleston is closed at Brush while officers investigate.
One man is dead after Nevada Highway Patrol officials say he fled from police when they attempted to pull over his Chevy pick up near the intersection of South Bruce Street and Fremont Street. The man eventually crashed into a wall near North Eastern Avenue and Fremont Street. Police were not in pursuit at the time. Speed was a factor. UPDATE AUG. 15: The man was identified as 21-year-old Enrique Guzman Ortiz of Las Vegas.
