This is a roundup of all the breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for April 23, 2018.

9:14 P.M.

A 21-year-old male was shot in the ankle at 5000 E. Washington Avenue, near North Nellis Boulevard. He was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect is still on the loose. Gang detectives are on-scene and the investigation is ongoing. 

5:02 P.M.

A crash involving a garbage truck on northbound Interstate 15 and Lake Mead Boulevard is causing traffic delays on the interstate.

5 P.M.

A jackknife crash near eastbound 215 and the airport connector has caused officers to close three lanes of the beltway. Expect traffic delays in that area.

3:14 P.M.

Las Vegas police confirm there was a crash involving a vehicle and a child in the parking lot of St. Rose Pediatrics at 6980 South Cimarron Road. FULL STORY

11 A.M.

A person has died as a result of a shooting in the 9700 block of Powell Plateau Court, near Grand Canyon Drive and Hacienda Avenue. The person died after being transported to UMC Trauma. Homicide detectives are investigating. READ MORE

7:15 A.M.

A man got into a fight with another man in the 900 block of North Las Vegas Boulevard, near Washington Avenue, around 4:30 a.m. During the fight, the man reportedly slammed the victim's head onto the curb. The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition. The other man remains at large. 

6 A.M.

There was a fire in a Dumpster near Washington Avenue and Bruce Street. 

5 A.M.

A power pole caught fire near Flamingo Road and Koval Lane. Roads are blocked off in the area.
