LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — An off-duty corrections officer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department was hospitalized after a shooting Monday evening on West Cheyenne Avenue near Buffalo Drive, according to police.
Police say officers responded near a business in the 7600 block of Cheyenne around 8:43 p.m. and located the victim with a gunshot wound. According to LVMPD, the corrections officer is currently in surgery.
According to LVMPD, the suspect is outstanding.
Police say it is an active scene and ask the public to avoid the area.
