With Major League Baseball just a few days from its official return, other levels of the sport are also moving forward, including travel baseball. One league in the Cleveland area has been thriving, despite the uncertainties of playing in the midst of a pandemic.

The Stingrays travel baseball team, and 11 other teams in the league, have utilized the guidelines issued by Gov. Mike DeWine and found a way to be able to play their season out.

From wearing masks to and from games, to socially distancing in the dugout, so far things have worked out for the team.

It’s been nearly two months since the league resumed play and there has not been a single positive COVID-19 case on the Stingrays.

Parents of players on the traveling baseball team said they believe that as long as precautions are taken—such as wearing a mask, regular hand washing and staying home when sick— then sports, and the public, can get through the pandemic.
