Raiders, Smith's team up to give food to Las Vegas charities

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Raiders teamed up with the grocery chain Smith's to make 500 meal boxes for families in Southern Nevada.

Players met at the chain's distribution center in Henderson on Monday to pack the holiday meal boxes. The lineman each made a monetary donation to make sure the donations were possible.

Each box provides a family everything needed for a hearty Thanksgiving meal — including a whole turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, rolls, salad and a pumpkin pie.

The boxes will be sent to local non-profit charities for distribution to their clients.
