HENDERSON (KTNV) — Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty suffered an apparent leg injury during practice Sunday.
According to ESPN's Ryan McFadden, the second-year player was diving for a catch during the team period and landed awkwardly. He was helped off the field by trainers and could not put any pressure on his right leg, McFadden reports.
ESPN's Adam Schefter later reported that Jeanty is believed to have sprained his ankle and it is not considered to be a long-term injury.
The injury happened after player and coach media availabilities. No one from the team has commented on it at this time.
Jeanty has seen limited time in the preseason, with just three carries for 16 yards, all of which came against the Arizona Cardinals. Last season, he started all 17 games for the Raiders, rushing for 975 yards and five touchdowns.
