LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — We just passed the halfway point of the NFL season and the Las Vegas Raiders are right in the middle of the race for the playoffs.

If the playoffs were to start this week the Raiders with their 5-3 would be in as the 7th and final spot in the AFC.

13 Action News asked former Raiders head coach and Super Bowl champion Tom Flores to give the Raiders a grade for the first half of their inaugural season in Las Vegas.

“I'd rate them a strong b/b+ and the curve is moving upwards. I always say, 'put yourself in position in the second half of the season,' and we're entering the second half in a position to make a run for it at the end and be there in December. And keep our fingers crossed - that's the way they're heading,” Flores said. “And if they can get healthier with each week that will help. I'm very impressed with what they're doing right now. Hopefully, they won't go down but they're doing quite well and have to feel good about themselves.”

The Raiders are hosting the Denver Broncos Sunday at 1 p.m. at Allegiant Stadium.
