JULY 11: The dominos continue to fall for Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather in their pursuit of their record-breaking boxing match.
The latest news to break involves the venue for the event. When the fight was officially announced the promoters pinned it at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The problem, Ice Cube had already reserved the venue for his Big 3 basketball finals.
Mayweather Promotions was forced to reserve the MGM Grand Garden Arena for that date, which is where he's competed exclusively for the past decade.
Many assumed that the two sides would reach an agreement to switch venues or to reschedule Ice Cube's event for another date. It turns out the former was the correct assumption.
The BIG3 Finals will be held at MGM Grand Garden Arena on Aug. 26 at 1:30pm. Mayweather-McGregor will be held at T-Mobile Arena that night.

Ice Cube had this to say about the move.
Ice Cube: "We're grateful to MGM Resorts, Mayweather Promotions and UFC for presenting us with a generous offer that we could not refuse."

With the venue secured, it's only a matter of time before tickets sales are officially announced.
JULY 10: Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor just took another step toward putting on the most lucrative fight in sports history.
Their fight is scheduled to take place on Aug. 26 in Las Vegas, but many hurdles still remain.
The bout is currently being marketed for T-Mobile Arena but a deal to move Ice Cube's Big 3 basketball championship from the venue on that date is yet to be finalized. There's also the matter of an under card, ticket prices and fight week schedule to hash out.
Establishing a PPV price was another hurdle, one that wisely took care of before the boxers embark on a 5-city press tour starting on July 11.
During the official announcement of the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor boxing match UFC President Dana White said that the event will have to be priced higher than the average fight.
He was right.
The @FloydMayweather @TheNotoriousMMA pay per view price will be $89.95 -- same as the Pacquiao fight - $10 more for HD.

Madelyn Flax, a spokesperson for Showtime, verified the pricing when asked by USAToday.
That means the pay-per-view price will be exactly the same, $89.00 and $99.00 + taxes, as Mayweather's fight against Manny Pacquiao. That fight broke almost every record in boxing history and the May-Mac bout is on pace to surpass those totals.
Are you willing to pay $100+ to watch the fight?
