The Rebels will battle against the Howard University Bison this Saturday during the first game of UNLV's 50th football season. But the action will kick off on Friday with a performance from the visiting team's Showtime Marching Band.

Howard's band will play during the Unity Football Game featuring Canyon Springs High School at Cheyenne High School. The match starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are $5.

Music, food, and other activities will also be available before the game starts at 4 p.m. UNLV Director of Athletics Desiree Reed-Francois and Howard AD Kery Davis will address the crowd before kickoff, along with Nevada Board of Regents member Cedric Crear and Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority Chairman Lawrence Weekly.

"We appreciate the opportunity to highlight the impact of education and community," said Reed-Francois in a press release.

Davis added that he was really excited about the Unity Game.

"It creates an opportunity for us to showcase the multifaceted levels of excellence at Howard University to a group of young people preparing for college life,” Davis said.

Showtime Marching Band will also perform at halftime during Saturday's game against the Rebels, along with the Star of Nevada Marching Band from UNLV.
