The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

7:35 P.M.
RTC has tweeted that the airport connector ramp that had been closed since an asphalt spill yesterday has now been reopened.

2:48 P.M.
The Clark County Fire Department was dispatched to the Palms hotel-casino, located at 4321 West Flamingo Road, for reports of smoke and flames seen on the 6th floor. Crews ascended to the 6th floor to find AstroTurf on fire. The fire was extinguished at about 2:55 p.m. with the cause not immediately known and an ongoing investigation.

A total of 85 personnel responded along with Las Vegas police. No injuries were initially reported.

UPDATE 12:40 P.M.

9:30 A.M.
Police in North Las Vegas say a man is dead after a shooting involving the department overnight. READ MORE

8:55 A.M.
Clark County fire crews were called to 8350 S. Durango Road for reports of flames inside a business. Crews were able to extinguish the flames at 9:15 a.m. with no injuries reported and the cause of fire remaining under investigation.

5:30 A.M.
The airport connector on-ramp at Warm Springs remains closed this morning after initially shutting down shortly before 7 a.m. yesterday.

12:30 A.M.
UPDATE (8/3/20): The Clark County Coroner has identified the bodies of the two victims as 23-year-old Edna Reyes and 24-year-old Dae'Shawn Jackson King from Las Vegas. Both victims were killed by multiple gunshot wounds and both have been ruled a homicide.

Las Vegas police say 2 people are dead after a shooting on McWiliams near Eastern Avenue and Bonanza Road. Police found 2 people inside of a car. A male was pronounced deceased at the scene. A female was taken to UMC and later pronounced deceased. No one has been arrested. The suspected shooter, wearing all black, was seen leaving the scene on foot. It is not known if the shooter knew the victims.
