The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

9 P.M.
Las Vegas police officers and SWAT are responding to an incident in the central part of the valley. Police say a man is on the roof of a house on the 3600 block of Seneca Circle reportedly cutting himself with a knife. Police say there are some evacuations in the area as officers try to talk to him and calm him down. READ MORE

6:18 P.M.
Homicide detectives responded to a call at an apartment in the 2200 block of Bonanza involving a decedent who was originally reported to have committed suicide. Homicide detectives responded and are taking over the investigation.

5:30 P.M.
A 63-year-old Clark County inmate was pronounced dead shortly before 8:30 this morning.

The Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC) reports that on Monday, July 15, 2019 at approximately 8:20 AM, Inmate Lynn Haynie #35009 was found unresponsive in his cell in the infirmary.

Officials say Lynn Haynie was found unresponsive in his cell in the infirmary. Staff performed CRP on him but were unable to revive him. The preliminary cause of death is natural causes due to long standing medical conditions, officials say.

Haynie was serving 48 to 120 months for driving under the influence. He arrived at the Nevada Department of Corrections on November 18, 2015.

3:30 P.M.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue respond to an odor investigation at the KSNV News 3 station on 1500 Foremaster Lane, near Bruce Street and Owens Avenue. Officials say a few poeple felt ill after reports of odor in the building. HAZMAT technicians checked the building out. No injuries to report. The incident remains under investigation.

9:01 A.M.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue respond to fire in vacant Checkers restaurant at 1900 E. Charleston Boulevard. Heavy smoke on arrival, fire found in kitchen area. Fire investigators have ruled the fire as arson. Authorities say it appears the fire was started in at least two places inside the building. A shopping cart full of various items behind the building also burned.

7:15 A.M.
It appears the barricade situation has come to an end and the man has been taken into custody.

6:22 A.M.
Truck slams into parked car, house near East Sahara Avenue and Abarth Street (Nellis Boulevard). Police say it happened aorund 6:22 a.m. The driver was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

2:01 A.M.
Las Vegas police responded to a domestic disturbance between 2 men around 2 a.m. in the 4100 block of El Cederal Avenue near Oakey Boulevard and Arville Street. One of the men is refusing to leave the residence. Los Altos and El Parque avenues are temporarily closed.
