The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

6 P.M.

North Las Vegas police are working a homicide scene near San Miguel Avenue and Coleman Street, in neighborhood east of Cheyenne High School. More updates HERE.

8:30 A.M.

Police have released information about the incident this morning in the southwest area. Police say they responded to a hit-and-run crash around 6:13 a.m. A vehicle hit a pole in the area of Warm Springs Road and Tenaya Way. The registered owner of the vehicle is a wanted person (police did not specify why). Police detained one person at the scene but are looking for one more. The lockdown has been lifted on Sierra Vista High School. No injuries have been reported related to incident.

6:30 A.M.

There is police activity near Warm Springs Road and Tenaya Way. Police appear to be searching the area for someone. Sierra Vista High School, which is located nearby, is working to get all the students into the classrooms as quickly as possible in case the school needs to be placed on lockdown.
