The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

8:10 P.M.
The Nevada Highway Patrol is reporting a fatal crash on WB I-215 and Valle Verde Drive that involved one vehicle that rolled over. Closures are in place on the highway and alternate routes are suggested.

The person killed has been identified by the coroner as 26-year-old Evan Perlman. Cause of death was multiple force injuries. Manner of death is still listed as undetermined.

OVERNIGHT UPDATE
Las Vegas police say one person is dead and another was rushed to the hospital after two separate crashes Wednesday night. Read more Las Vegas breaking news for Aug. 19, 2020

The first happened shortly after 8:20 p.m. near Valley View Boulevard and Twain Avenue. Police say a 19-year-old man was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after a car he was driving hit a decorative boulder near the roadway. Authorities say the vehicle was speeding and that it over-steered while trying to avoid a slower vehicle. The man was transported to UMC Trauma. The crash remains under investigation.

1 recovering from critical injuries after crash near Twain, Valley View

The second crash happened minutes later, just after 8:30 p.m., near Nellis Boulevard and Washington Avenue. Police say a 35-year-old man riding a motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene after he was thrown from the bike in a crash with two other vehicles. Authorities say none of the drivers showed any signs of impairment. The coroner's office will identify the man who died. His death marks the 61st traffic-related death in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for 2020. The crash remains under investigation.
