This is a roundup of all the breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for April 12, 2018.

6:25 P.M.

Police now say that one person is dead after the crash near Charleston Boulevard and Sloan Lane.

5 P.M.

A person was transported to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury after a crash near Charleston Boulevard and Sloan Lane. The road is closed while police investigate.

4:30 P.M.

A vehicle rolled over in a two-vehicle crash near Pecos-McLeod Interconnect and Twain Avenue. Injuries are unknown. Northbound Pecos-McLeod is closed at Twain. 

2:20 P.M.

A child was hit by a vehicle near Sahara Avenue and Lamb Boulevard. The juvenile was transported to UMC Trauma with broken rib and surface wounds. The injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

12:48 P.M.

Businesses near Lake Mead and Decatur boulevards have been evacuated after a man started acting suspiciously in a vehicle. Uniformed security called Las Vegas police about a suspicious vehicle that had been parked in the Family Dollar lot for several hours. When police approached the vehicle, the man rolled up the windows and started banging his head. Police then noticed a large knife in the vehicle. The man then tried starting the vehicle with a knife in his hand. Police are treating the situation as a barricade. 

11:32 A.M.

A crash on Warm Springs Road and Las Vegas Boulevard has caused the intersection to close in all directions. One person was killed and several others injured. READ MORE

11:25 A.M.

Nevada Highway Patrol is reporting a crash on Interstate 15 Southbound before Sahara Avenue.

The left lane is currently blocked.

10 A.M.

Las Vegas police said the man who barricaded himself near Charleston Boulevard and Maryland Parkway has been taken into custody without incident. 

7 A.M.

Las Vegas police detectives were in the area of Charleston Boulevard and Maryland Parkway when they located a man wanted for a crime. The man fled from officers on foot and has barricaded himself inside of a business. There are no customer or employees believed to be inside of the business with the man. Police did not specify why the man is wanted. 

5:30 A.M.

A crash on Sahara and Eastern avenues has blocked off several lanes of traffic.
