Las Vegas police said 18-year-old Cameron Hutchinson was critically injured as he was crossing the street in the crosswalk at Mariner Cove Drive and Fort Apache Road when he was hit by a driver in a Toyota Corolla who went through a red light. The pedestrian was transported to UMC Trauma. UPDATE SEPT. 14: The 18-year-old pedestrian has died of his injuries, according to the Clark County coroner's office.
Las Vegas police said the child hit in the crash at Fort Apache and Mariner Cove is in fact a 18-year-old man who was hit halfway through the intersection. He walked out of the crosswalk. He is still alive and in the hospital. The driver is a woman. Police are still trying to figure out who was at fault because there's conflicting information as to whether or not the light was red at the time.
