A Clark County vehicle was involved in a crash that killed a woman Tuesday.
The crash was reported around 11 a.m. near the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Warm Springs Road. Las Vegas police said a white Ford truck, belonging to Clark County, struck the female pedestrian.
According to police, the 73-year-old woman was crossing Eastern Avenue outside of a marked crosswalk and in an active construction zone when she was struck by the truck, which was backing up south on Eastern Avenue.
Las Vegas police said the woman was conscious and alert when medical personnel arrived. However, she later died at Sunrise Trauma where she was transported.
Clark County has released a statement regarding the crash.
"We are aware of the terrible accident that occurred today. Our deepest condolences are with the family of the woman who passed away.
The driver of the vehicle and the County are fully cooperating with law enforcement as they conduct their investigation into this incident."
