LEGAL HELP

HKM Employment Attorneys LLP is offering assistance and free legal advice for people with common questions about employment during the coronavirus pandemic. MEDICAL HELP

Dignity Health is offering free virtual care visits for people with mild to moderate COVID-19 symptoms, like low grade fever or cough. Download the app called "Virtual Care Anywhere" or call 855-356-8053. Original story here.

The Medicare Store — an insurance agency that works with major insurance companies to offer Medicare supplement and Medicare Advantage plans — is staffing a Helpline, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., to answer people’s questions in Nevada about their Medicare insurance, at no cost. Any Medicare-eligible person can call the Helpline for assistance or schedule a call at TheMedicareStore.com. HOUSING

Have you been displaced because of the COVID-19 outbreak? Move.org wants to help. The company is offering one applicant a one-time, $1,000 moving grant to help cover unexpected moving costs related to this pandemic. Anyone over the age of 18 who was forced to relocate because of COVID-19 is eligible to apply. You can find the application form and any information needed to share this with your readers in the official posting on its website here. FOOD PROGRAMS

The Clark County School District (CCSD) will continue providing breakfast and lunch to students during the closure of our schools. Student food distribution pods will be set up at 22 school locations throughout the valley from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday. Students need to be present for food to be distributed. Serving Our Kids Foundation aims to bridge the food gap for students in need on weekends. The non-profit is delivering food to children so they stay full during the weekend. You can help the organization by buying designated items from servingourkids.organd dropping the items off at their warehouse 121 Industrial Park rd., Ste. 110, Henderson, NV 89015.

SHARE Village is extending its food pantry operating hours. The pantry is now open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to assist those laid off or furloughed because of COVID-19. The SHARE Village food pantry is located on 50 N 21 Street, near Fremont and Eastern. Full story here.

LOANS

Las Vegas valley pawn and consignment store Max Pawn is offering interest-free pawn loans to Clark County residents. To be eligible for this offer, Nevada residents must bring an item for pawn to Max Pawn to receive a 90-day interest-free loan on the item. As a financial institution, Max Pawn will continue to stay open to serve guests and the community; however, guests are encouraged to make online payments and transactions through the Max Pawn website or app.

ONLINE LEARNING, ENTERTAINMENT

The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District closed all of its locations, but all resources are available online. If you enter the bar code from your library card online, you'll have access to free learning programs, SAT and ACT practice tests, movies, TV shows, e-books and more. Read more about that here.

Socrates, a Las Vegas based program for remote learning, is another option to stop the social distancing slide. With local schools being closed, Socrates is offering free courses for students, administrators, and parents through the rest of the school year and summer. Read more about that here.

SERVICES

Hours for the City of Las Vegas call center have been extended to take calls from the public with questions about city services during the coronavirus pandemic. The public can call 702-229-CARE (2273) from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday and Sunday the line will give callers automated options.

Residents who need to do business with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department bureaus that have closed in order to limit the spread of COVID-19 have several online and telephonic options:

The Records and Fingerprint Bureau can accommodate the following services online:

-Records Requests
-The new online CCW permit application will allow the citizen to electronically apply, remit payment and schedule their appointment within the comfort of their own home.

Southwest Gas announced additional assistance to customers impacted financially by COVID-19.

The company said it understands that these are trying times and wants to help customers through with programs, flexible payment plans, payment assistance programs, and income-qualified rate assistance for Nevada customers.

TRAVEL

Enterprise Rent-A-Car is offering College Student Travel Assistance in response to the closing of colleges and universities due to coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns.

It is reducing the minimum age and waiving young renter fees for rentals through May 31, 2020, to help students get home safely and ease the burden on families during this time.

-Official student ID must be presented at the time of rental
-Valid on Economy through Fullsize cars, Minivans, Small Pickup Trucks and Cargo Vans
-Valid at U.S. locations only for rentals reserved in advance

CLEANING

Las Vegas restoration and cleanup company Valley Enterprises is partnering with Summit Restoration to offer free emergency vehicle disinfection for healthcare worker’s cars and first responder emergency vehicles.

The cleaning usually takes about 15 minutes per car. The companies will use electrostatic technology to disinfect the interior of the vehicles. All exposed surfaces (including work equipment and shoes left inside) will be disinfected.
