"It had not been for the food that she was able to struggle and fight for us to get. And not only here in Las Vegas, Nevada, this woman went around this country and organized and helped other women," one attendee said.

"We will not let the legacy of this woman shift into the wind. Because she is so important," one attendee said.
The main funeral service and celebration of life is Saturday, May 23, starting at 10 a.m. at Second Baptist Church.
Duncan's legacy lives on at Ruby Duncan Elementary School in North Las Vegas. Her family said they hope her story continues to inspire future generations.
