UPDATE JULY 26: The excessive heat warning has now been extended through Saturday in Las Vegas.

UPDATE JULY 25: The excessive heat warning has now been extended through Friday in the Las Vegas valley. 

UPDATE 11 PM JULY 24: Most people think of Las Vegas as a city that comes alive at night and some people 13 Action News talked to Monday said that is especially true during extreme temperatures.

EARLIER STORY: You have probably heard by now, it's going to be really, really hot this week in Las Vegas.

Temperatures are expected to be above 110° for several days in the Southwest. Highs today will reach 108° in Las Vegas.

An Excessive Heat Warning is currently in place from Tuesday through Thursday as temperatures reach 113°, 114°, and 113°, respectively. Overnight lows will only drop to the upper 80s and low 90s this week.

Cooling stations are open around the valley.

There will be a few thicker clouds on Wednesday and Thursday. The good news is that with drier air in place this week, no storm chances are in the forecast.

The heat will moderate a little next weekend as highs drop closer to average for late July (which is 105°).
