LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Authorities are investigating a shooting that has left one person dead Thursday morning.
It happened around 8:39 a.m. in the 4900 block of Lana Drive, near Nellis Boulevard and Harmon Avenue, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Lt. Robert Price said around 8:30 a.m., police received a 911 call reporting gunfire in the area.
When officers arrived, they found one man lying on the ground in the park with an apparent gunshot wound.
Price said the victim was taken to Sunrise Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities believe three or four people were hanging around a park bench when an argument ensued, leading to one person pulling out a gun and shooting the victim.
Suspects fled the scene, but Price said authorities do have a few people in custody they are questioning.
The investigation is ongoing.
