LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — UPDATE OCT. 7: The Clark County Coroner has identified the man killed outside of a house party on Monday as 20-year-old Kevin Nike Martinez from Henderson. His cause of death was due to multiple gunshot wounds and it was ruled a homicide.
Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting outside a house party on Captains Hill Road near Durango and Alta drives.
Officers responded to reports that someone was shot around 12:30 a.m. on Monday and found a man in his early 20s with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was pronounced dead on the scene. His identity will be released by the coroner's office.
The department says he was shot outside the home. Investigators are unsure if he was arriving or leaving the party.
There have been parties at this address for several nights in a row, police say. The home is not a short-term rental property.
A suspect has not been identified at this time. Police are still looking for the shooter described as a Black male, approximately 5-feet 7-inches tall and between the ages of 20 and 25.
THIRD DEADLY INCIDENT IN 24 HOURS
This is the third homicide investigation within 24 hours for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The department responded to two separate incidents on Sunday near the South Point hotel-casino.
The first, a deadly stabbing at The Grandview timeshare resort around 11:30 a.m. Police are looking for eight people possibly connected.
Then, in a separate incident nearby hours later, police said a man was shot and killed by a security officer after waiving a gun around at the South Point valet.
