Capt. Seth VanBeveren said that the officer was working as part of the Southern Nevada Task Force, conducting traffic enforcement in the area. VanBeveren told media that during the enforcement, the officer, who was on a motorcycle, was hit by a driver and subsequently taken to a local hospital.
"Although he has a long road to recovery ahead of him, and with his injuries, he is expected to survive and make a full recovery," VanBeveren said.
The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, authorities said.
