The man who is facing charges of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a student at Cadwallader Middle School on Jan. 24 has been identified as a suspect in another case.

The incident happened in May 2018. An 11-year-old girl was found in an alley near Palos Verde Street and East Twain Avenue on a Wednesday afternoon.

Police discovered that she had been walking along near Twain and Swenson Street when she was picked up by a man in a black BMW.

The driver allegedly put a T-shirt over her head and sexually assaulted her at gunpoint before letting her out of the car in an alley.

Police released a sketch of the man at the time but no one was ever arrested.

Las Vegas police have confirmed that Antwon Perkins is a suspect.

Perkins was arrested on Jan. 25. He was hospitalized after his arrest with self-inflicted wounds. He is still in a hospital at this time.

The Department of Corrections has confirmed that Perkins was a correctional officer at High Desert Prison between April 2015 and September 2017. It is not known at this time why he left.
