LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — One person is dead after a crash in the northwest valley.

It happened at the intersection of Durango and Grand Teton around 4:13 a.m. Thursday, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Authorities said a Nissan Altima was traveling north on Durango, and the driver failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway. That caused the driver to crash into a "control device support" on the northeast corner of the intersection.

The driver was taken to UMC Trauma for treatment, but was pronounced dead from her injuries.

This marks the 149th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD's jurisdiction for 2025.
