The Running Rebel men's basketball team debuted the Thomas & Mack Center's new court Las Vegas-themed decal in November, now it's time for the Lady Rebels to do the same for the Cox Pavilion.

Jan. 20 will mark the first time the Lady Rebels will have a brand new court since Cox Pavilion opened in 2001.

"We are very happy that our women's basketball and volleyball teams now have the opportunity to play on a new court that is representative of our wonderful and dynamic city," said UNLV Director of Athletics Desiree Reed-Francois. "With the previous court having been in use for over two decades it was time for a new playing surface for the Cox Pavilion and we are looking forward to its debut."

The Cox Pavilion's court design will remind many Rebel fans of the Thomas & Mack Center. It also features an outline of the world-famous Las Vegas Strip’s skyline along with the classic UNLV arch logo at center court.

"The court has a pop to it and it's great to be on such a springy, sparkly new floor," said Lady Rebel head coach Kathy Olivier. "It's a big deal for our team to have a brand new court. The Las Vegas sign, the skyline, the whole look makes it a real honor to play on a court with this design representing Las Vegas."

The Lady Rebels first practiced on the court Jan. 18 and will play their first game on the new surface this Saturday when they host Colorado State at 3 p.m.
