LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Raiders took part in Giving Tuesday this season with making donations to nonprofit organizations here in Southern Nevada.
Giving Tuesday began in 2012 as a global movement to remember the reason for the season in donating to charities on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.
Americans donated $400 million as part of the international day of giving in 2018, according to reports.
And this year the Raiders took part in Giving Tuesday with its foundation and surprised three nonprofit organizations with $15,000.
Team representatives also said the nonprofits will be featured on the Raiders Foundation social media accounts, where fans can make donations as well.
