LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Mountain West is one of four major NCAA Division 1 conferences to cancel college football this fall and that means UNLV will not be playing any games at the new Allegiant Stadium this year.

Today 13 Action News asked Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden if he thinks the NFL should play during the pandemic.

He told us it's not something he thinks too much about.

"I want to do what's right for our players and coaches and be as safe as possible. I want to be a part of beating this virus into the dirt. And whether or not we should or shouldn't or will or won't, that's not a question that I have. I try to stay focused on the mission we have and that is to be a great football team, the best we can possibly be, and stay healthy."

The Raiders home opener is scheduled for Monday Night Football on Sept. 21 right here on channel 13.
