Coming off a 20-win campaign this year, Coach Niko Medved’s Colorado State Rams will have the opportunity to test its mettle in one of next season’s premier early season tournaments. CSU joins Louisville, Arkansas and San Francisco in the field for the MGM Resorts Main Event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The four-team tournament will be played on Nov. 20-22 and benefits Coaches vs. Cancer.

“We are thrilled to have the chance to play in a first-class tournament like MGM Resorts Main Event,” said Medved. “It’s a great opportunity for our program and we look forward to competing against some of the premier programs in college basketball.”

With four returning starters, Colorado State looks to return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2013. That season, the Rams beat Missouri in the First Round before being knocked out by eventual National Champion Louisville. A potential CSU-Louisville game would be the first time the two teams have played since 2013.

“Colorado State is going to come to Vegas next season with experience and well-coached,” said bdG Sports President and CEO Brooks Downing. “The combination of the action on the court and a destination location like Las Vegas promises to make a tremendous trip for Rams fans on the weekend before Thanksgiving.”

First-round games will be played on Friday, Nov. 20 with the consolation and championship games tipping on Sunday, Nov. 22. Pairings and game times will be announced later this summer. The event benefits Coaches vs. Cancer, an initiative spearheaded by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (www.nabc.com) and the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org)

Complete tournament information can be found at www.mgmresortsmainevent.com and tournament hotel rates are available now on the site. Rates are available for Park MGM (host resort for CSU), Aria, MGM Grand and New York-New York with all four resorts being within a short walking distance to T-Mobile Arena.
