LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A Las Vegas local is heading to the big leagues after being selected during Wednesday’s Major League Baseball draft.
The New York Yankees took Austin Wells with the 28th overall pick.
Wells graduated from Bishop Gorman, where he played catcher and played college ball at the University of Arizona.
