Melinda Sheckells, lifestyle and entertainment expert and editor of OffTheStrip.com, shares recommendations on what to eat and drink this week in Las Vegas.

Here is where to order in when watching the game, what to order for a special event and where to go for tasty Asian downtown.

For the Game

Burgers, beer and wings from Sickies Garage at Town Square make the perfect Vegas Golden Knights game day order and delivery is free through all third-party delivery platforms—place orders at www.sickiesburgers.com. A must-try burger is the Smoke Shack with a thick Kobe patty, onion straws, barbecue sauce and cheddar cheese. For an appetizer, dig into the tangy Cheese Curds or the decadent Tater Kegs with smoky bacon, oozing cheddar and chives with sour cream. Sickies Garage is open daily from 11 a.m. until midnight; 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday game days.

For a Special Occasion

Looking for something special for the Big Game or Valentine’s Day? Check out @the_charcuterie_queen [@the_charcuterie_queen] on Instagram—former nightlife executive Zee Zandi made the pandemic pivot and is now in the special events business, crafting custom charcuterie boxes. Valentine’s Day boxes are $75 with adorable salami roses, crackers, cheese and yummy accoutrements. Letters boxes are $75 and there are many other styles, designs and price points available, as well as vegan and meatless options. Pick up boxes ordered from Miss Daisy Flowers, or request delivery for a fee. Boxes and boards require a 24-hour turnaround and tables and letters are 48 hours.

For Happy Hour

8 East at Circa Las Vegas is offering happy hour from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. with $8 plates and drinks ranging from $5 to $9. This new restaurant from Le Thai’s chef Dan Coughlin is super tasty and make sure to try the Ginger Chicken Dumplings, Pork Belly Bao and the Chicken Skins.

For dinner, the duck roll is a play on a Peking Duck with thick chunks of duck confit wrapped in a thin crepe with green onion and cucumber—chopped and stood on end, almost like a sushi roll. Drag 'em through a thick sesame seed hoisin sauce. If craving carbs, jump on the Sizzling Noodles with chopped garlic, ginger and ground pork, drizzled in hot sesame oil and the Lobster Fried Rice, which features a whole lobster diced and stir fried with fresh ginger, fish sauce and green onion.

The cocktail program is also outstanding with sakes, whiskies and the winner of them all the Rosemary Smash, a refreshing mix of Haku Japanese Vodka, house-made rosemary simple syrup, fresh lemon and lime juice, muddled cucumber and Thai basil, and soda water.
