DISCOVERY Children's Museum in Las Vegas was recently awarded a $150,000 Museums for American grant by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

The money will be used to support the development, implementation and evaluation of a new staff training program -- DISCOVERY Training Boot Camp -- designed to optimize the nature and quality of the visitors’ experience.

DISCOVERY Children’s Museum was one of 217 museum projects selected from 583 applications requesting support through the highly competitive Museums for America and National Leadership Grants for Museums programs. Las Vegas’ only children’s museum was the only museum state-wide to receive this grant.

“The Museums for America grants support projects that strengthen the ability of individual museums to address their key needs or challenges," states DISCOVERY Children’s Museum President and CEO Tifferney White.  “The visitor experience is of upmost importance to us. This grant supports our efforts to better prepare out team to engage our visitors in inquiry-based, relevant and open-ended experiences using our exhibits and programs as a platform.”
