A paraglider says it is a miracle that he's alive after his 150-foot fall was caught on a GoPro.
Damien Leroy was paragliding over a South Florida beach when suddenly he started to spin out of control, his lines became tangled and he was unable to undo them. The engine had temporarily stalled.
Leroy told ABC News his only option was to jump or risk crashing into nearby trees.
“There was this feeling that just said ‘there's a super soft bush right there, you should jump.’ And so I jumped and, right or wrong, it was the best decision I ever made for sure,” he told ABC News.
Leroy suffered a broken back, pelvis and ribs along with a punctured lung in the incident in Jupiter.
