The high is forecast to be 103 degrees, which would break the previous record of 100 degrees in 2001. The average high on May 9 is 86 degrees.
Temperatures are also forecast for 103 degrees in Henderson, Centennial Hills and Southern Highlands. It will be a tad cooler in Summerlin at 98 degrees.

Fortunately, Wednesday is likely to be the hottest day of the week. Temperatures are expected to drop below the century mark to 97 Thursday and to the mid-80s by the weekend.
