Preliminary report released for deadly Henderson plane crash

HENDERSON (KTNV) — According to the National Transportation Safety Board, it was a pilot and a flight instructor who were killed in the plane crash in Henderson.

The NTSB released its preliminary report on Tuesday.

The report says that the plane tried leaving earlier but couldn't get high enough to go past the mountains. One of the passengers in the plane told the airport employees it was "too hot" shortly after take off. A door also opened mid-flight before the plane nose-dived into some terrain. The report also states there were issues with fuel.

The plane crashed on Sept. 7.
