LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — One person is recovering at the hospital with life threatening injuries after a crash involving a three-wheeled scooter at Red Rock Canyon.
The crash happened shortly before 10:30 a.m.
Police say a 2009 Panther Motors Scoot Coupe was traveling on Scenic Loop Drive, which is a single undivided road, when it approached a hairpin section of the roadway that curved to the right. The driver failed to negotiate the turn and traveled off the road left.
The scooter drove off an edge and flew into the air before crashing into an earthen embankment below. It overturned.
The passenger of the scooter was airlifted to the UMC Trauma Center with life threatening injuries where she remains stable.
The driver was transported to UMC Trauma Center in an ambulance with moderate injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Las Vegas police.
