North Las Vegas police say that a pedestrian was struck and killed Sunday morning at West Lone Mountain Road and Camino Al Norte.
The crash occurred around 6:15 a.m.
The man was taken to University Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. Police say he was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident.
Witnesses reported the man had been a passenger on the northbound RTC bus which was at the bus stop. The man indicated he was in a rush to catch the southbound bus before he exited the northbound bus. The man crossed in front of the stopped bus and was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound.
The 18-year-old driver of the striking vehicle stayed on scene and was not injured.
The Clark County coroner's office is determining his identity and cause of death.
The area was blocked off to traffic for several hours as police investigated.
