Dr. Robert E. Fowler Sr., who was the senior pastor at Victory Missionary Baptist Church, has died, according to several sources.
Local and state officials, including Gov. Steve Sisolak, are expressing their condolences on social media.
The prominent Baptist church on West Monroe Avenue was a frequent stop for political candidates and local leaders wishing to connect with the African American community.

Fowler was 64 at the time of his death. The Clark County coroner has confirmed that Fowler passed away in bed. A cause of death is not available at this time.
