UPDATE 12:30 P.M. Nevada Highway Patrol is suggesting alternate routes for those traveling to California.

UPDATE 10:30 A.M. Vehicles are moving approximately 30 to 40 miles per hour. The delays are expected to continue until 8 p.m. tonight. McCarran International Airport is also expected to be busier than usual today.

The Regional Transportation Commission tweeted that traffic was backed up for 16 miles at 8:20 a.m. Sunday.
