UPDATE: Man hit by multiple cars on west 215 near Lone Mountain, NHP says

215 southbound has reopened after hours-long closure

UPDATE 12:21 A.M. FEB. 13: All southbound lanes on the western beltway of the 215 near Lone Mountain Road are open again.

UPDATE 10:59 P.M. FEB. 12: Troopers say a man was hit by multiple vehicles and pronounced dead on the scene.

No other information is known about the man at this time. The coroner will release his identity and an official cause of death.

The 215 southbound remains closed in the area and NHP is diverting traffic off Lone Mountain Road. Expect the closures to remain in effect for at least a few hours, troopers say.

The crash remains under investigation.

The people involved in the crash are on the scene helping with the investigation, NHP says. They are also being offered resources for their trauma involved in the accident.

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that happened shortly after 8 p.m. involving a pedestrian on the west beltway of the 215 near Lone Mountain Road.

Traffic is being diverted at Lone Mountain, the agency says.

Expect delays and avoid the area.
