Las Vegas police say a 28-year-old man is dead after a single-vehicle crash involving a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup truck on Sahara Avenue east of Sandhill Road around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. Police say the truck was speeding on Sahara when it failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The truck drove over the center median and crossed the westbound travel lanes, crashing into a cinder block wall. The driver was pronounced dead on the scene, and the coroner will release his identity in the coming days.
The driver's death marks the 65th traffic-related death in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for 2020. This crash remains under investigation.
