This is a roundup of all the breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for October 20, 2017.

9:57 P.M.

Las Vegas police say a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle near East Desert Inn Road and Pecos-McLeod at 9:57 p.m. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and is not expected to survive. The suspect vehicle fled the scene. 

4:03 P.M.

Lincoln Elementary was on hard lockdown from about 2:58 p.m until 3:50 p.m. due to police activity in the area. 13 Action News has reached out to North Las Vegas police to see what that activity was.

11:45 A.M.

Some arriving flights at McCarran International Airport are being delayed an average of 57 minutes due to strong winds. Check with your airline to see if your flight is affected.
