The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

4 A.M.
A Nevada Highway Patrol trooper shot at a man early this morning. NHP says the man was throwing rocks at a patrol car. A trooper shot at the man but missed. Another trooper tased the man. The man has been transported to a local hospital. Eastern is currently closed in both directions near U.S. 95. It is expected to reopen within an hour.

1:59 A.M.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responded to a 2-alarm fire on Silver Dollar Avenue near Pennwood and Arville Street. 19 people were displaced from two apartments. 1 dog was killed, 1 dog escaped and 1 dog is missing. 1 person transported to hospital after being cut by glass. LVFR says that a resident was cooking with grease when they fell asleep.
