The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.
Las Vegas police are investigating two separate shootings in the valley that officials say may or may not be related.
Shortly before 9:30 p.m. officers responded to reports of a disturbance between a group of people in the 3100 block of Ferndale St., near Lamb Boulevard and Valley View Drive. Police say gunshots were heard by the citizen and officers found evidence of a shooting. No suspects or injured victims were on scene. Specialized unit detectives are on scene and investigating. The investigation is ongoing.
Shortly after 10 p.m. a man was reportedly was grazed by gunfire in the 5500 block E Harmon Avenue near Boulder Highway, police say. The injury was minor and at this time the person was not transported to a local hospital. Police say it is unknown at this time if these two events are related. Specialized unit detectives are also investigating this incident and that investigation is ongoing.
Two fights broke out at Del Sol Academy with nine students arrested. CCSD police said the students are facing disorderly conduct charges. No injuries were reported in the incident but the situation remains under investigation.
Las Vegas police report they are dealing with a barricaded person inside a residence near Spencer Street and Pyle Avenue. Evacuations and road closures were also reported in the area while the scene remained active.
Clark County Fire Department responded to a fire in the 5900 block of Rollingwood Drive near Tropicana Avenue and Sandhill Road. It appears that a fire started in a car in front of the residence and spread to palm trees and the home. No injuries reported.
Las Vegas police are investigating a stabbing in the 200 block of Las Vegas Boulevard North. Police say they found a man who had been stabbed in the side. He was transported to a nearby hospital and is stable. They are still looking for the suspect, who fled the scene on a bicycle.
