Las Vegas breaking news for November 24, 2017

3:09 P.M.

An 8-year-old on a bike was hit by a car while the child was in the crosswalk, according to Henderson police. The child has serious injuries, and the intersection of Tomahawk Drive and Silver Springs Parkway is closed while police investigate the collision. READ MORE.

2:45 P.M.

Two adults, two children, a dog, and a guinea pig were displaced by a kitchen fire that caused $100,000 in damage to a Henderson home. The fire happened around 10:10 p.m. on Nov. 23 at the 2700 block of Borthwick Avenue, near Anthem Highlands and Democracy drives. No injuries were reported.

2:15 P.M.

A climber fell near the Calico Springs Trail in Calico Basin around 1:47 p.m. The fire department will be hiking in and bringing the subject out.

12:04 P.M.

A metal building attached to a house caught fire at 862 Lulu Avenue, near Tropicana Avenue and Swenson Street. Damage is estimated at $100,000. The fire happened around 9:17 a.m. No injuries were reported. A family of five was displaced due to extensive smoke damage throughout the nearby home.
